Chocolate Chip Cookies

The classic chocolate chip cookie done right: golden edges, a soft chewy center, and melty pockets of chocolate in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 280 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 225 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 300 g chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and line baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter with brown and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto sheets, spaced 5 cm apart.
  7. Bake 9–11 minutes until edges are golden but centers look slightly underbaked.
  8. Cool on the sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
